锦绣山河一把火，这是谁翻译的名字，愚蠢透了。电影名字直译成英文是Pretty Village, Pretty Flame，再直译成中文，是“美丽的村庄，美丽的火焰”。
又是一部反映前南斯拉夫解体后战争的片子，和《地下》有些不同。《地下》讲的是60年历史长河中，战争对南斯拉夫各民族人民的影响，这部《美丽村庄》主要讲的是波黑战争。二战以后仗打的不多，波黑战争是在欧洲最大最惨烈的一次。打仗的双方，塞尔维亚和穆斯林，在同一个地方共同生活了50多年，说的语言都完全相同，为了争地盘就可以打成这样。相熟的亲戚，最好的朋友，因为是不同的民族，被卷入战争，站在了不同的阵营，就会举起枪互相杀戮。反思战争的电影很多，我们看到最多的大概是美国拍的越战片。但是美国拍不出巴尔干半岛的战争，就算拍出来，政治立场也会和《美丽村庄》相反。在国际主流观点中，塞尔维亚族在波黑战争中是邪恶的一方，他们拒绝联合国的调解，对穆斯林进行种族屠杀，被联合国军队大规模轰炸，还捎带炸了中国领事馆。在电影里，塞族游击队的队员们才是活生生的人，是电影的主角，那些穆斯林们，只不过是在隧道外面叫嚣的一群敌人而已。
看过这个电影，就更能理解为什么一个人可以从讨厌战争，躲避战争，到被动的卷入战争，到最后对敌人产生巨大的仇恨。电影的主角米兰，从小和穆斯林小胖是最好的朋友。战争开始的时候，米兰的母亲被杀，他自己也被动的加入了游击队。直到那时候，他也并没有太多为母亲报仇的想法，他更愿意的还是躲起来，逃避这个战争的存在。一切在他们的小分队被他领进那个隧道开始，不同了。小分队被敌人堵在隧道里，没有救援也没有水，外面的穆斯林们，包括好朋友小胖，杀死他的战友，把他的小学女教师赶进来做人肉炸弹，用语言羞辱，刺激他们，播放那些前南斯拉夫的歌曲，让他们精神崩溃而自杀。经历了这一切的米兰被救到医院，看着又一个战友在病床上死去，在那时候他心中的仇恨，已经足以让他拿着一把小小的餐叉，爬到隔壁病房，去杀死一个素不相识的穆斯林军人。
战争是由敌视和仇恨带来的，而战争本身，又带来更多的敌视和仇恨。
电影本身最大的特点是不断的闪回。米兰和幸存的战友们在医院里回忆隧道里的日子，在隧道的时候故事，又会以每个人为起点闪回到他战争之前的经历。闪回的次数多而复杂，但是看电影的时候并不会觉得乱。随着电影的发展，我们也更多的了解小分队每个人的背景，知道他们是怎样进入到这个战争来的。最重要的一次闪回，是在电影的最后，电影回到米兰和小胖小时候，最终进入到那个废弃的隧道，看到的是层层堆积的带着血的尸体。这个闪回在最后揭开了谜底，也对应了米兰后来在隧道经历的那场战争。
看过这个电影的人都会在想，为什么说着同一种语言，从小一起长大，共同生活了几十年的人，会端起枪互相射击。其实，这样的事情在历史上还少吗？1949年10月1日，全国人民欢欣鼓舞，庆祝新中国诞生的时候，有没有人想过，并没有什么新中国，中国还是那个中国，只不过是一群中国人，打败了和他们同民族，说着同样语言，有着同样文化传承的另外一群中国人，如此而已。
